UNIT:
The Five Pillars of Islam  
 SPECIFIC TOPIC
Islamic Confession, Islamic Daily Prayer, Religious Alms Giving, The fast or a Time of  Not Eating, Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca.
INTRUCTIONAL GOAL
Students  able to improve the quality of their muslims

PERFORMANCE OBJECT
1.    Able to describe the basic beliefs of Islam
2.    Able to explain the meaning of each of the Five Pillars of Islam
3.    Able to compare and contrast the Five Pillars of Islam with the duties of other religions with which they are familiar

RATIONALE
Students must be understand the basic beliefs of Islam and the Five Pillars because they are generation of Islam and they must be good moslems.

•    Islamic Daily Prayer
•    Religious Alms Giving
•    The fast or a Time of  Not Eating
•    Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca

•    A chalkboard, whiteboard, or poster paper (for brainstorming activities)
•    The appropriate writing utensil for your writing surface
•    Tape (necessary if you are using poster paper so that you can display the students' work)
•    TV and VCD/DVD player
For each student:
•    Pen or pencil
•    Book
•    Computer with Internet access
